The free DISH Anywhere app for smartphones and tablets lets you take your live TV, DVR and On Demand content with you wherever you go, plus more.

Get the Free App

Download the DISH Anywhere application from iTunes (iPad or iPhone) or from Google Play (Android) for your supported mobile device.

Watch Your Live TV

Requires a broadband-connected DVR and Sling Adapter.

  1. Log in to the DISH Anywhere app using your DISH Online ID and Password. If you do not have one, Go to dishanywhere.com click “log in” on the top right and select “create online id”.
  2. Select “Guide” from the bottom navigation
  3. Select a live event from the Guide
  4. Select “Watch” to begin viewing on your mobile device
  5. While the video is playing, tap the screen to display the control options
Watch Your DVR Recordings

Requires a broadband-connected DVR and Sling Adapter.

  1. Log in to the DISH Anywhere app using your DISH Online ID and Password.
  2. Select “My DVR” from the bottom navigation
  3. Select a recording that you wish to watch
  4. Select “Watch” to begin viewing on your mobile device
  5. While the video is playing, tap the screen to display the control options
Schedule DVR Recordings
  1. Log in to the DISH Anywhere app using your DISH Online ID and Password.
  2. Select “Guide” from the bottom navigation
  3. Select the event you wish to record
  4. Select “Record”
  5. Follow the on-screen options to create a one-time or recurring timer for the event. Options will vary based on event
Manage Your DVR

Requires a broadband-connected DVR.

  1. Log in to the DISH Anywhere app using your DISH Online ID and Password.
  2. Select “My DVR” from the bottom navigation
  3. Select the DVR recording or timer you wish to edit or delete and follow the on-screen directions
Watch on Demand
  1. Log in to the DISH Anywhere app using your DISH Online ID and Password.
  2. Select “On Demand” from the bottom navigation
  3. Select a title that you wish to watch
  4. Select “Watch” to begin viewing on your mobile device
  5. While the video is playing, tap the screen to display the control options

Selection will be based on your programming subscription. Requires Android OS 4.0 or higher to watch on an Android device and iOS 5.0 or higher to watch on iPhone or iPad.

Use a Remote Control
  1. Log in to the DISH Anywhere app using your DISH Online ID and Password.
  2. On smartphones:
    • Select “Guide” from the bottom navigation
    • Select the remote icon in the upper left corner (next to the Filter button) to display the on-screen remote control
  3. On tablets: Select the remote icon in the upper right corner
Transfer Recordings

Requires a broadband-connected Hopper with Sling. Hopper with a Sling Adapter is not supported.

  1. Select the “My DVR” tab.
  2. Select the recording you want to transfer.
  3. Select the “Transfer to mobile” option. Confirmation message will display. Select “OK.”
    Note: You must be on the same network as your Hopper with Sling to transfer recordings.
  4. Select the “My Transfer” tab.
  5. Select the “Transferring” tab to see which items are being transferred. All items that are in the transferring queue will display. The DISH Anywhere app must remain open to complete the transfer.
  6. Select the “My Videos” tab to access all transferred content. All transferred content will display.
Prepare Recordings for Transfer

Requires a broadband-connected Hopper with Sling. Hopper with a Sling Adapter is not supported.

  1. Select the “Guide” tab.
  2. Select the event you want to transfer.
  3. Select the “Record” button.
  4. Select the “Prepare for mobile” button. The slider will display green.
  5. Select “Record This.” Confirmation message will display. Select “OK.”
