If the remote has had new replacement batteries and you cannot get remote to function properly, there are a few options available to the satellite television consumer for replacement.
DISH Network offers free replacement of remotes, via mail, with the protection plan on the customer account. You can call the National line at 800-333-3474. In the event that the customer does not have the protection plan, they can purchase one from Microcom. (see retailer information below)

DIRECTV offers a replacement of remote with the protection plan. DIRECTV requests customers to call in to the National line at 800-347-3288. They will determine if it is necessary to send tech to resolve the issue. If the customer has the protection plan they could create a free service call for this technician visit and if the tech is unable to resolve, they will replace the remote. In the event that the customer does not have the protection plan, they can purchase one from Microcom. (see retailer information below)
As the retailer Microcom offers a complete stock of remotes available to the consumer. Verify what model receiver you have prior to calling for a new remote, as remotes are specific to receiver models.
