The Downtown Soup Kitchen began over 30 years ago in a garage, fueled by a vision to share the love of God with Anchorage’s homeless. Operating out of a little red house on 4th Avenue, they provided nearly 300 cups of soup each day to homeless and low-income families. addition, they offer showers and clothing as well as providing a culinary school to help with vocational training and creating new skill sets.
Microcom sent four employees for four hours to help cook, assemble and distribute food. The Soup Kitchen has been a reaccuring volunteer spot for the team as its so helpful to our community, and here in Alaska where the winters can get especially tough for homeless, have a place to get hot food and drink and sit down is so important. So greatful to everything their team does for Anchorage!
